𝒮𝒸𝓇𝒾𝓅𝓉𝓊𝓇𝑒: Galatians 6: 4-5
𝒯𝑜𝓅𝒾𝒸: "Change Starts with Me"
As we slow jog into 2021, I challenge each person reading this prayer to do one of the most difficult tasks yet; I request that you conduct a "Self Examination" on you.
The above scripture Galatians 6: 4-5 states, "Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else".
As an employee in the school system, I periodically cross troubled students who constantly place blame on everyone else around them, never recognizing the speck in their own eye. Not realizing that they have the power to not be easily influenced. Not realizing that he or she is responsible for their own actions.
As adults, there isn't much change in some of us from school age stages. Stop that chronic behavior today. That routine is old. How much longer do you expect others to wait on your maturity? Let us claim responsibility for our own actions. Have you wondered why you're seeing the same raggedy results? Change has to start with you. Take a moment to truly look at you. It's not always everyone else's fault.
Look back to the Book of Genesis 3: 11-12. At verse 11, early on (Adam) is still referred to as (Man). So God asked him, "who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I told you to not eat from?"
“The man said, “The woman you put here with me—she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it".
Classically in this scripture, the man shifted blame. So many of us, including myself, are habitual blame shifters. Let us spend some alone time with God, and confess our sins to Him. Let us confess our ways. I often ask God to show me "Monica". Ask God to search you today (Psalm 139:23).
Don't walk into a new year with the old you. Each of us have drastic room for improvement. If you're still living, there's more work for you. Don't consider yourself to have arrived (Philippians 3:13).
Change starts with me. I'm also asking you to allow the Holy Ghost to clean you up. You may not be able to see the annoyance you give off to others around you, but if you allow God's Holy Spirit to do a fresh work in you, the aroma you give off will be much sweeter. People will actually want to be around you.
Father, in the name of Jesus, Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
Father God I can't speak for everyone else but I don't want to be left behind due to my own ignorance. Father create in Monica (say your own name) a clean heart and renew the right spirit in me (Psalm 51:10). Wash me o God and make me white as snow (Psalm 51:2). Father remove every speck inside of my own eye and fill every hole with Your love, Your grace, and Your mercy.
Father God I confess my sins to you (confess your individual sin to God). Father I accept responsibility for my own actions. Father God, where I lay dormant on my own recklessness, reveal and heal in the name of Jesus.
Father God, I will not walk up on 2021 as I walked into 2020. Thank You Father for revealing "me to me". Thank You God for showing me that I am not perfect. Thank You God for allowing me to see that I need You. Father God we praise You in advance for what You have already completed in the spirit realm for us!
Father God, we ask that 2021, will be the year of increase for us. In 2020, You made us strong as many of us suffered brokenness from various reasons. In 2021, I speak happiness and success for every Individual reading this prayer right now in the name of Jesus. Father God change our speech and allow our mindsets to match our tongue talk.
Father as we close, we pray Your will be done in our lives. We pray o God that Your work in us will make good on the Promises which You made (in the Word). Father God, when it's all said and done, You will get the continued glory, praise and honor.
It's in Jesus Name we Pray, Amen.
