𝒯𝑜𝓅𝒾𝒸: "The Greatest Mathematician"

𝒢𝑜𝑜𝒹 𝐸𝓋𝑒𝓃𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝓉𝑜 𝒴𝑜𝓊,

There are various categories of Math. The math we learned as small toddlers and elementary school was the basic adding, subtracting, division, and multiplication.

As we went into middle school, we were introduced to one of the most basic levels of math, which is Algebra. Algebra basically deals with symbols and also rules for manipulating those symbols. When you think of Algebra, the letters X and Y usually stand out to most people. Another area of math is Calculus. Calculus, involves the study of rates of change. Calculus is used in fields such as engineering, medicine, economics and statistics (which was my favorite in college). Geometry can count as another section of math. Geometry involves lines, points, surface and shapes. Geometry comes in handy for architectural projects, bridge building, and space training. One last example of math is trigonometry. Simply put, trigonometry is all about triangles; more specifically, right-angled triangles.

Okay Monica, I see there are various groupings of math, but what are you talking about exactly? I'm so glad you asked!

From the beginning of us, we learned how to do the most simplest of math to the most challenging of math. We're actually still learning, hopefully. And please don't get it twisted, math was not my strong area in school. However, there is a formula that no amount of Multiplication, Division, Algebra, Calculus, Geometry, or Trigonometry that will make two fish and five loaves of bread feed over 5,000 people (not including women and children).

In all four books of the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John), this phenomenon is recorded. Look at Mark 6:41. It reads, "Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to his disciples to distribute to the people. He also divided the two fish among them all."

Early on, we see the disciples are observing the large crowds (multitudes) of people as it is getting dark. The disciples asked Jesus to send the crowds away so they may buy themselves food. Jesus replied, "they do not need to go away. You give them something to eat". The disciples told Jesus they only had two fish and five loaves of bread. And Jesus did what He does best. He made what looked impossible to us on earth, possible in the supernatural. Why supernatural? Because it was something that came from Jesus alone. It wasn't by the help of the disciples. It wasn't by the help of the crowds. It was just Jesus.

So Monica, how does this apply to me exactly? This applies to each and every believer in the body of Christ Jesus. We all have our own unique two fish and five loaves in our day-to-day lives. Each of us have had situations that looked impossible. That appeared unachievable. We will have many more challenges that the power of God will bring us through. We need to believe and we need to believe today.

If it is God's will, there is a healer who can heal what seems impossible. The reason I say (IF it is His will) is because sometimes that thorn in our flesh makes us stronger. There is a banker who can pull you through financial strongholds. There is a Father who comforts the broken, the hurt, and the lost. There is a Way-maker available and ready to lead you the right way.

It doesn't always make sense. The numbers often times won't add up. But trust God to do the impossible. Allow Him to shift the impossible to possible.

What is your two fish and five loaves? Give it to God today and allow Him to multiply what you already have. You don't need more. You just need Him to bless what's there.

Father in the name of Jesus, we ask You Father to bless the resources, talents, and gifts You have already given us. Father help us to see that what we have is enough. Father God, we ask You to multiply our value for the benefit of Your kingdom. Father use what we have to bless an abundance of souls. We ask these things in Your Son Jesus name. Amen.
