𝒯𝑜𝓅𝒾𝒸: "Imitators of Christ"

Recently, a family member of mine took a poll on those of us who bake with Pure Vanilla Extract vs Imitation Flavoring. Some wondered, "well what's the difference"?

According to the FDA, pure extract means the vanilla flavor can only come directly from vanilla beans. Pure vanilla extract can last forever. Imitation vanilla is made from artificial flavorings. So when using imitation vanilla in recipes, you would need twice as much flavoring to equal that of pure extract. But, to answer the original question, the majority uses Pure Extract.

The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 11:1, "Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ".

The entire purpose of the imitation flavoring was to mimic the pure extract. We are encouraged to follow Christ as the lead example. We cannot follow after Christ if we don't read and study the word of God. How else would you more deeply understand the character of Christ?

While we cannot live a righteous lifestyle on our own, we are empowered by the Holy Spirit of God, to live like Him. We are the children of God. Imitate His love. Imitate His peace. Imitate His purity. But do this all for the Glory of God.

Father, in the name of Jesus, we want to follow the Word spoken in Ephesians 5 where we are told to be followers of God.

Father, remind us that Your ways are more excellent than any human motive. Father renew Your spirit within us. Father help us to pattern our lives after You. Father God I pray for every person reading this prayer that we all become Imitators of Christ, day by day. Most importantly, Father help us to draw others to Jesus Christ.

In Jesus name, Amen.
